At the request of many, I am coming forward to share my experiences traveling, and finding my favorite little corners of the world. For those who don’t know me, I’m Nicole — known as Peanut (to my husband, at least), hence the blog name. I’m a twenty-something California lady with a love of the outdoors, a thirst for adventure, and a penchant for luxury.
I love channeling my inner Robinson Crusoe, and leaving home hopelessly far behind. There is a certain romance to jetting off to a place that is difficult to get to. In fact, the more various forms of transportation a destination requires to reach, the more inherently desirable it is to me. Call me a masochist, but I yearn for the road less traveled. This isn’t to say that I always have the opportunity to make jaunts quite so far from home. When the destination is closer, I look for the road less traveled in the form of undiscovered cities, and intimate accommodations. My mantra: travel often.
I am a huge proponent of minimalist travel. Whether the destination is two or twenty hours away, for a duration of three days or three weeks, in temperate or tropical climates, I pack the same way: in one 25 liter backpack (it fits under the seat in front of me). I’ll be sharing my gear as well as packing lists for various destinations to prove that packing (very) light, and being stylish are not mutually exclusive. You can pack this way, and it will change your life!
I plan to do recaps of various trips, both near and far. I also will be showcasing amazing hotel, resort, and boutique properties I discover around the world.
So… where to next, Peanut?
My next trip takes me to Punta de Mita, Mexico in the state of Nayarit, roughly an hour north by car from Puerta Vallarta. I look forward to the heat of the Mexican sun, stunning cliff-lined beaches, and intimate B&B accommodations along the northern edge of Bahia de Banderas.
